INCLUSION

The concept of inclusion is as simple as this image and this 30-second video

INTEGRATION

The main pillar of inclusion is the recognition that all people have their own abilities and potential, different from others, so that different needs require distinct or diverse responses.

Inclusion seeks to encourage and ensure that everyone is "an important part of society". Inclusion, therefore, means that the systems in place will provide access and reciprocal participation; and that the individual with a disability and his or her family have the
opportunity to participate on an equal basis.

According to UNESCO, inclusion is an approach that responds positively to the diversity of people and individual differences, understanding that diversity is not a problem, but an opportunity for the enrichment of society, through active participation in family life, education, work and in general in all social and cultural processes.

WHAT DOES INCLUSION ALLOW US TO DO?

To enjoy a world that is more equitable and respectful of differences.
To benefit all people without prejudice to their characteristics, that is, without labeling or excluding. To provide equitable access, constantly reviewing processes and valuing each person's contribution to society.

It is important to find meaningful ways to show people that their diversity is a strength, not a setback. This motivates them to be positive and do their best at work, increasing their confidence and improving relationships along the way.

SUPPORT FOR PEOPLE IN SITUATION OF DISABILITY

The people with disabilities may need support to fully participate in their communities.
This support can range from accommodations to make a space accessible to a person with physical or sensory limitations, to training for teachers so they can teach students of all abilities and talents, to assistance from counselors and friends to succeed in a job or recreational activity. The support must respect the wishes, needs, and choices of the person with a disability.
